Friday
Yesterday we visited the English School in Gothenburg where students often come from families who have lived in various parts of the world. We gave two concerts in the hall before then taking lessons with the year 4 classes. One class had a beginners clarinet and trumpet lesson based on the Haringey Whole Class Instrumental Teaching method. The other class worked on various percussion rhythms leading up to a massed performance of Mission Impossible. We later returned to the Frölunda Cultural Centre for a massed rehearsal with young musicians from Gothenburg.

This morning we said tearful goodbyes to our dear friends in Kristinehamn and drove 150 miles back to Gothenburg. Before meeting our new hosts we had fun looking around a local shopping mall which sold amazing sweets and lollipops amongst many other things.
Later, we tried a few creative ways to check that everyone in each travel group was present.

Last Day in Kristinehamn
Today was our last day in Kristinehamn. We started by going on a very relaxing boat trip, followed by a lovely pizza lunch back at the music school. Whilst some of us enjoyed the views, others had fun conversations and some took time to work on their sketches. There are some very talented people here!
After lunch we did some rehearsing with young (and not so young) friends from the music school before transferring to the venue for our final concert here. See the video below for a snippets from the concert, which was very enthusiastically received. As expected, we have been treated very well here and benefitted from exceedingly generous hospitality from our friends. We look forward to having them visit us again in Haringey sometime soon.

A fun day
Today we began by visiting the Alfred Nobel museum which began with everyone being ushered quietly into the ballroom of Nobel's house and told to sit in silence. There was a waxwork dummy of Nobel sitting at his desk and the guide began to speak. Everyone was taken by surprise when the dummy came to life and then told his own story! We were enthralled and learnt a lot about the invention of dynamite and Nobel's will which led to the setting up of the Nobel prizes.
In the afternoon we all went to Bodaborg which is an adventure quest experience. We had to split into teams and then attempt various challenges in a series of rooms. The doors would only unlock to the next stage when you had solved the challenge. Some of these were mind puzzles, others were physical challenges and some were a combination of the two including my favourite, a dance floor on which we worked out you had to dance then pause at appropriate moments in order to unlock the next door! Most teams managed between four and six challenges during our four and a half hour stay!
